The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
In the context of the campaign carried out by the Internal Security Forces to protect public safety and combat violations and offenses that pose a risk to citizens, and in implementation of the decision of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmed Al-Hajjar regarding the strengthening of measures to suppress violations involving motorcycles in Beirut, the Beirut Traffic Police Regiment within the Beirut Police Unit carried out a campaign to control and suppress violations within its sectors.
Temporary and fixed checkpoints set up by the traffic units resulted in the seizure of 265 motorcycles and 65 violating vehicles, as well as the issuance of 1,225 violation reports.
The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces confirms the continuation of strict enforcement measures to suppress such violations in order to preserve public safety, and calls on citizens to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
