Information Minister Paul Morcos has arrived in the United States for an official visit during which he will meet members of the Lebanese diaspora.
Minister Morcos will begin his visit in Washington, D.C., before traveling to New York to hold meetings with a number of officials and deliver Lebanon’s statement at the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) at the United Nations Headquarters.
The HLPF is the United Nations’ principal platform for reviewing progress on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During his speech, Morcos will present the Lebanese government’s vision and commitment to advancing the SDGs.
The minister will also discuss the challenges facing Lebanon as a result of Israeli attacks, as well as the Lebanese state’s efforts, led by President Joseph Aoun, to secure the liberation of occupied Lebanese territories, obtain the release of detainees, extend state authority across the entire country, rebuild devastated villages, facilitate the return of displaced residents, resolve outstanding issues, and pave the way for lasting stability and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
