Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa announced that “we do not intend to carry out any military intervention in Lebanon.”

In an interview with Al Jazeera, he added: “We are discussing with the Lebanese government solutions that would help bring Lebanon to safety.”

He said: “The solution in Lebanon is not necessarily a security one, and we are working on a comprehensive approach to the crisis,” noting that “any chaos in Lebanon could have repercussions for Syria.”

Al-Sharaa stressed his support for “the Lebanese state’s monopoly over arms and its decision on matters of war and peace.”
