Mayor of Baalbek Fouad al-Blouq disclosed in an interview with the National News Agency on Friday that the PCR tests conducted in the Palestinian refugee camp of Galilee in Baalbek, revealed a new coronavirus case without showing any symptoms, which necessitated the patient’s compulsory quarantine in the section arranged by UNRWA inside the camp.
Accordingly, al-Blouq urged all people of Baalbek and camp residents, "to adhere to the decisions of general mobilization and the health measures and directives given by the Ministry of Health in order to preserve public safety, with emphasis on sterilization mechanisms, especially with the rise in the number of infected cases with the coronavirus epidemic to 6 people inside the camp that is intertwined with the city’s neighborhoods.”
The Baalbek Mayor also called on the security forces to "tighten the implementation of the decisions of the Cabinet, the Supreme Defense Council and the relevant ministries, in order to preserve the safety of the people, because the congestion witnessed in the city of Baalbek over the past week, on the roads and in supermarkets and supply chains, is unacceptable,” adding that the municipal police units are not sufficient to carry out this task.
