Diab holds meeting on education sector matters

Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, held an educational meeting attended by Ministers Tarek Majzoub, Hamad Hassan and Talal Hawat, PM Advisors, Khodor Taleb, Petra Khoury and Hussein Kaafarani, MEHE Director General, Fadi Yarak, Director of MEHE Private Schools Department, Imad Achkar, Father Boutros Azar, Haji Mohammad Samaha, Suhair Al-Zein, Nayla Daanouni, Head of the Private School Teachers' Union, Rodolphe Abboud, Head of the Secondary Education Association, Nazih Jebbawi, President of the Association of Basic Education, Hussein Jawad, Lama Tawil, Raymond Feghali and Private Schools’ Trade Unions Secretary, Hussein Ismail.

Prime Minister Diab listened to the difficulties and needs of the education sector, and praised the efforts exerted by teachers in light of the difficult conditions that the country is going through due to the coronavirus pandemic. He backed the decision of the gradual return to schools, provided that all safety measures are taken and global health standards are observed. Premier Diab also stressed the necessity of vaccinating the educational staff teaching official exam classes, and securing the logistical and technical needs of schools. Back-to-back meetings will be held between relevant ministries to follow up on this file.
