United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, arrived on Tuesday afternoon at Rest House Tyre, accompanied by UNIFIL Commander-in-Chief, Stefano Del Col.
Guterres met with representatives of civil society, amid security measures by the Lebanese army in the vicinity of the Rest House.
Several activists staged a sit-in in front of the Tyre Rest House entrance, protesting their exclusion from the meeting with Guterres. They asked to meet the UN Chief to present their demands, including the implementation of international resolutions 1701 and 1559.
