Mikati leads a series of meetings

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired on Thursday at the Grand Serail a meeting of the Ministerial Committee tasked to address the repercussions of the financial crisis on the activity of public facilities.

The meeting was attended by Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Saade Chami, Caretaker Ministers of Education Abbas Halabi, Justice Henry Khoury, Administrative Development Najla Riachi, Social Affairs Hector Hajjar, Industry George Boujikian, Public Health Firas Abiad, Interior Bassam Mawlawi, Labor Mustafa Bayram, and Public Works Ali Hamieh.

Also attending the meeting had been Director General of the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Antoine Choucair, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Judge Mahmoud Makiya, Head of the Civil Service Council, Nisreen Machmouchi, Director-General of the Ministry of Finance, Georges Maarawi.

The Prime Minister also chaired a meeting of the Committee to follow-up on the cracked buildings in the North, attended by Caretaker Minister of Interior Bassam Mawlawi, Caretaker Minister of Public Works Ali Hamieh, Chairman of the Public Works Parliamentary Committee, MP Sajih Attieh, Mayor of Tripoli Ahmed Qamar El-Din, Dean of the Order of Engineers Syndicate in Tripoli and the North Bahaa Harb, and the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Major General Mohammad Khair.

On emerging, MP Attieh said that the meeting came at the invitation of Premier Mikati to discuss the conditions of the cracked buildings in the north.

Premier Mikati also met with Caretaker Telecoms Minister Johnny Corm, over ministry related affairs.

Mikati also received, in the presence of Caretaker Minister of Industry Georges Boujikian, the CEO and Founder of "MultiLane" Fadi Daou.
