On the last day of his Russia visit, Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Al Rai reiterated that the majority of the Lebanese people rejects holding parliamentary elections based on the 1960 electoral law.

Rahi visited on Friday shortly before his return to Beirut the President of Russia's Duma, Serguei Narychkine who praised al Rai's stances which stem from his care for Lebanon's interest, as well as other Middle Eastern countries. Narychkine also pointed out that the Russian government will offer assistance to Lebanon, mainly in the Syrian refugees issue.
