National Liberal Party leader, MP Dory Chamoun, voiced his utter rejection of the Orthodox electoral proposal, describing it as a "sectarian project".
In a televised interview, Chamoun feared that by the adoption of the Orthodox electoral law, the Lebanese would be crafting "a new Israel" with their own hands.
"The sole beneficiary from this proposal is Israel," warned Chamoun.
As for the obvious delay in cabinet formation, Chamoun blamed some sides of imposing unfeasible conditions on Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, in a bid to gain the upper hand at a number of key ministerial portfolios.
