Maronite Patriarch Bechara al-Raii, met today Thursday, with German Ambassador to Lebanon Christian Clages who came to Bkirki on a protocol courtesy visit. Both men reportedly discussed bilateral ties between both countries.
Earlier, two NGO delegations separately visited Patriarch al-Raii in Bkirki; The Round Table Dialogue Delegation discussed the necessity for a new electoral law allowing relevant social strata their basic human and social rights. Also, head of the Parents' Committees at Catholic Schools Joseph Koteish, reportedly boarded with the patriarch general matters of an educational nature.
Among Bkirki itinerant visitors for today were, Friends and Family members of Cardinal Labaki who received a sentence by the Vatican Court to solitary confinement at a monastery on pedophile charges. The Labaki League appealed to the patriarch to do something for the disgraced prelate.
Patriarch al-Raii also met with former cabinet minister Farid Haykal Khazen and Former Deputy Emile Nawfal, with no word as per meeting's outcome
