One killed, ten wounded in Tripoli's overnight clashes

One was killed and ten others wounded as fighting in Tripoli raged on, reaching a fever pitch with intense sniper and rocket fire overnight.

Various types of missiles and machine guns were reportedly used in the clashes between the rival neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tebbaneh. In fact, mortar shells, rockets as well as light and medium-caliber weapons all contributed in exacerbating the fighting.

The clashes had claimed the life of Riad Salaheddine Saloukini while the wounded have been identified as Ali Khaled al-Omar, Mohammad Khoder al-Zbayde, Noureddine Atallah al-Ghoul, Nour Walid Khoder, Omar Khaled Fatmeh, Omar Ahmar al-Ahmad, Amina Abdel Aziz Dgheim (Syrian national), Ibrahim Youssef Ahmad, Hassan Mahmoud and Bassem Abdo Talaa.

Meanwhile, Al-Malloula and Abou Ali roundabouts are closed Friday due to intense sniper activity originating from Jabal Mohsen. Moreover, the Lebanese Army is reportedly responding to the sources of fire.
