Five ministerial portfolios have been proposed to caretaker Energy Minister Gebran Bassil to chose from, according to information obtained by Addiyar newspaper.

The Lebanese daily reported that the suggested portfolios did not include the Ministry of Energy, prompting Bassil to decline all of the five.

Bassil is reportedly clinging to the office he is currently holding given that he was the one to launch the oil and gas exploration project and, therefore, wants to oversee himself the relevant tenders.
