Lebanon has intensively witnessed a spate of kidnappings lately, given the chaotic security situation reining the country. Today, the phenomenon has reached Bekaa region, Zahleh in particular, where son of wealthy businessman Ibrahim al-Sakr, Michel has been snatched early morning, while on his way to school.

In details, a golden Grand Cherokee intercepted Hyundai Picanto car carrying Michel al-Sakr, driven by the family driver, while he was escorting the boy to school in al-Ghaida region.

Four masked gunmen stepped down and pointed their weapons at the driver, then snatched Michel and fled to an unknown destination.

The incident sparked outrage among Zahleh residents, who blocked all roads leading to the town in protest against the kidnapping.

It is worth to mention that Michel's abduction is the second in row within 24 hours; on Thursday, gunmen kidnapped a citizen from Kaadi family.
