Samra Kesinovic and her friend, Sabina Selimovic, are children of Bosnian migrants, who grew up in Austria.
One of the two teenagers, Samra, who ran away to Syria to join Islamic State fighters seem to regret her decision. She contacted her family in Vienna voicing her intention to return because she can no longer bear the violence as a daily part of her life.
According to International Business Times news website, Kesinovic left Austria with her friend leaving a note for the parents saying "Don’t search for us. We will serve Allah and we will die for him."
Reports say that both are married to Chechen fighters and one of them is reportedly pregnant.
Since their departure, pictures have emerged online of the pair brandishing Kalashnikov rifles and wearing the full niqab.
For her part, Selimovic is "not yet ready to return," the website reported.
Around 160 Austrian fighters left their homeland to join Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
