Progressive Socialist Party Chief Walid Jumblat condemned Monday the double suicide attack that targeted a coffee shop in Jabal Mohsen over the weekend, deeming it unacceptable regardless of the identity of those who stand behind it.
In his weekly editorial for the al-Anbaa online newspaper, Jumblat noted that the attack was an attempt rattle Tripoli's stability, after the success scored by security forces in restoring order to the northern city.
Jumblat added such attacks against the Alawites served the interests of the Syrian regime, since they would thrust this community into clinging to the regime next door, "while upsizing rebels is sought to include the Alawites."
