Deryan denounces attack against Assyrians in Syria’s Hassake

Grand Mufti Abdullatif Deryan denounced the attack against Assyrian villages in Syria's Hassake neighborhood as well as the kidnapping of 100 young men and women, deeming them as terrorist and criminal acts against Christians.

Deryan noted that these attacks target the freedom, dignity and security of people, adding that they go against the teachings of Islam and other religions.

"Assaulting Christian's lives and security in our Arab East defies coexistence, dialogue and understanding," Deryan concluded.
