Mayra Rosales first rose to fame in 2008, when she falsely confessed to killing her two-year-old nephew by rolling on him with her 1000-pound frame.
Dubbed the Half-Ton Killer, she was later cleared of the charges, but came to realize she was still a prisoner - in her own body, and decided to turn her life around.
Since then, she has lost 800 lbs. - and gained a second chance at life thanks to her weight loss.
"I was dying," she told ABC. "I don't know if you had seen pictures before, [but] you could see it in my face. I had given up in life. I was alive but not living a life."
So far, 11 surgeries have helped her drop 800 pounds - though she says she still has 30 more to go.
She has a following of more than 18,000 people on Facebook and has even taken her story to TLC's 'My 600-lb. Life' in hopes of inspiring others.
