Progressive Socialist party leader, MP Walid Jumblat, honored today the British ambassador to Lebanon, Tom Fletcher, at his residence in Mokhtara at the conclusion of his diplomatic mission in Lebanon.
"Dear Tom, your compelling account of Lebanon and its leaders, including me, has left me speechless but I can still tweet all thanks to you," Jumblat said.
"Allow me to quote or comment on the a letter that is filled with hope and despair at the same time. Yes, Gibran was right when he said long time ago: You have your Lebanon and I have mine. Most of us destroyed his Lebanon and I wonder if anyone can still remember it," he added.
Fletcher, in turn, hailed the special relationship he shared with Jumblat, expressing his commitment to UK-Lebanese bilateral cooperation.
