MTV Newsroom Joins The Dance Frenzy

Following the viral video showing a protester dancing behind MTV reporter George Eid in Riad al-Solh on Sunday, as well as the parody version performed by Jean Nakhoul and Jocelyne Jaalouq at the studios, (which you can find in the Highlight section), “crazy dance” continues today at MTV during Alive morning show.

At 11 am today, reporter George Eid will come face to face with the 'dancing dude" Hussein Awad on MTV.

The hilarious video was featured in Assafir newspaper today as the paper recounted funny live coverage incidents.

The video that sent a burst of frantic laughter across all social media platforms, had garnered over 800 thousand views in the past two days, over 18,000 likes, and 16,000 shares.

The hilarious video that Minar al-Qaq posted on Twitter was retweeted 1.222 times.

Hussein Awad, the man behind the provocative dance moves, had contacted George Eid on Facebook and explained that he only meant to stage a funny prank.

After a few chats, Eid found out that Hussein is not the man he was perceived to be, but a well educated guy who is fluent in German.

The interest in the video rekindled once Producer Jocelyne Jaalouq and reporter Jean Nakhoul decided to create a sarcastic version of the Riad al-Solh scene.

As George was caught in a conversation with his colleagues, Jaalouk and Nakhoul can be seen trotting behind him, performing the same moves as Awad.

“It was spontaneous; we had the idea while passing behind Eid in the newsroom so we asked a colleague to film us as we crossed the room dancing,” Jaalouk told Assafir. “We then published the video on my twitter account, and hours later we hit 30 thousand views.”
