The brief kidnapping of Muammar Gaddafi’s son in Lebanon brought to the fore the case of missing Imam Musa al-Sadr who disappeared in Libya 37 years ago.
On Monday, The investigative Judge Zaher Hamadeh cross-examined Hannibal Gaddafi as a witness in the case of al-Sadr’s vanishing.
Al-Sadr family was quick to file a lawsuit to the State Prosecution against Hannibal given that, although the he was a child of three at the time of the kidnapping, the son grew within the closed circle of his father’s regime closed circle and later became directly involved in the Lebanese Affairs.
Once, the hearing session of Gaddafi ended at 3:30pm, the investigative judge met with the state prosecutor, Judge Samir Hammoud, to review the deposition.
After two hours and a half, Judge Hammoud announced in a statement that an arrest warrant has been issued against Hannibal Gaddafi for withholding information.
MTV learned from well-informed sources that Hannibal has shared some information on the disappearance of the Imam with his lawyer; however, a great deal is said to have remained undisclosed.
According to the same sources, the son confirmed that his father, Muammar Gaddafi was behind the kidnapping of Imam al Sadr. He went further as to name the impersonator who traveled to Rome as the sheikh al-Sadr in efforts to whitewash the regime.
