Health Minister, Ghassan Hasbani, has ordered strict measures to regulate the activities of beauty clinics, following the death of 33-year-old Farah Kassab at one of Lebanon's notorious plastic surgery hospitals.

A statement issued on Monday by the Minister's office indicated that regulations included the ban of surgeries requiring general anesthesia at Nader Saab Hospital, where Kassab, a Jordanian-Iraqi woman, had died after a liposuction operation.

Hasbani has also sent a letter to the State Prosecution and Beirut Physicians' Order, hereby urging a probe into the incident.
