The International Academy for Capacity Building and "Collete Academy" organized Sunday an "International Conference for Business Entrepreneurs" at the Byblos Palace Hotel in Jbeil district under the auspices of Caretaker Information Minister Melhem Riachy, represented by his Advisor Antoine Najm. Also attending was the Mayor of Byblos, George Habib, representing "Strong Republic" Bloc Member, MP Ziad Hawat, and a number of prominent figures in the economic, social and business fields.
In his word on behalf of Minister Riachy, Najm welcomed the idea of having "businesswomen in society, in which they can play an important and distinctive role."
"Unfortunately, the conferences that are held under the title of dialogue and communication do not always reach the desired outcome," Najm went on. He recalled that Minister Riachy was one of the first officials to propose the amendment of the Information Ministry's name to be "Ministry of Dialogue and Communication."
Najm hoped that today's conference would come up with solutions and positive results, pointing out that "NGOs and civil associations must exert more efforts in providing assistance away from thinking of material profit."
He deemed that "all talk about economic, industrial and environmental theories actually applies to countries with infrastructure."
"This is what we aspire for in Lebanon after the formation of the new government, so as to activate the work of state institutions via such theories," Najm underlined.
