The national campaign for the release of prisoner, George Ibrahim Abdullah, organized a sit-in outside the Foreign Ministry headquarters on Saturday, to remind the Lebanese State "to take responsibility for the abduction of its kidnapped citizen in the French State," according to a statement issued by the Campaign marking 34 years since his imprisonment.

Campaign activists and friends of Abdullah and his family gathered outside the Foreign Ministry carrying photos of Abdullah, recalling his 34 years of detention.

In her word on behalf of Campaign members, Attorney Fida Abdel-Fattah said, "Three days ago, Lebanese citizen George Abdullah completed his 34th year in French prisons...Two months fom today, it will be the end of the fifth year of the French political declaration that George Abdullah will remain in detention contrary to judicial decisions...It is the official declaration of slow death!"

"The Lebanese Foreign Ministry is called upon to translate its speeches and positions in international forums, and to consider George Abdullah as a political prisoner and administrative detainee and to deal with the French diplomacy on this basis," said Abdel-Fattah.

She urged the Foreign Ministry to demand the French authorities to immediately and unconditionally release the Lebanese resistance fighter George Abdullah, and ensure his return to his homeland and family.

"Anything beyond that would be a cover for the submission of the French State to American-Zionist demands, and this is tantamount to taking part in the crime," Abdel-Fattah concluded.
