UAE Embassy commemorates Martyr's Day

Upon the directives of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Beirut commemorated Martyr's Day on Thursday, to pay tribute to the homeland's martyrs, who are a symbol of solidarity between the UAE leadership, its people and residents, a statement by the Embassy said. 

The commemoration ceremony was attended by the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed al-Shamsi, diplomatic mission members, armed forces elements and Embassy staff. 

The UAE flag was put at half mast at 8.00 am followed by a minute of silence at 11.30 am, in honor of the sacrifices of UAE martyrs who performed their national duties to the fullest inside and outside the country. 

Ambassador Shamsi highlighted the noble meanings of this annual national occasion, expressing the importance of loyalty to all those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of allegiance to the nation and wise leadership.
