State Minister for Administrative Development Affairs, May Chidiac, on Monday inaugurated a training course on "Development Project Management", in cooperation with the European Union and the National Institute of Administration, at the Institute's headquarters.

The training course comes as part of the Lebanese government's technical assistance program funded by the European Union and coordinated by Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs.

The course is implemented by the British "Crown Agents" Institute.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Board Chairman of the National Institute of Administration, Georges Labaki, Director General of the National Institute of Administration Jamal Al Munjed, and the European Union's Representative Rein Nieland.

In his delivered word, Labaki hailed Minister Chidiac's support to the work of the Institute, hoping further cooperation in the near future for the welfare of the Lebanese administration.

Minister Chidiac, for her part, said "This training will contribute to the transfer of knowledge on the management of development projects as a tool for change in the public sector."

"The challenges are great, and we need years and years of work... However, we will not despair, because despair is an enemy of messengers of change," Chidiac corroborated.

It is worth mentioning that the National Institute of Administration is a public institution benefiting from the European support in accordance with the strategy of the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs.
