The Lebanese Economic Bodies on Tuesday held a work meeting at the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber, with the UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Lebanon, Lord Risby, in the presence of British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, and the Embassy's Trade Department head, Paul Khawaja.
The meeting discussed means of developing economic relations between both countries.
Lord Risby pointed out that he is the first permanent UK PM's Trade Envoy to Lebanon, stressing that he shall seek to further strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
He pointed out that his Country will facilitate Lebanese products' access to the British market post Brexit, in light of the continuity of trading between the two countries under the same conditions adopted with the European Union.
The UK envoy underlined the importance of cooperation in the field of information technology and knowledge, pointing out the prospects of Lebanese companies to benefit from their British counterparts through the transfer of technology, expertise and training courses.
"Despite all the difficult circumstances, there are promising investment opportunities in Lebanon," he said, adding that British companies are interested in investing in infrastructure projects in Lebanon.
