President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, signed on Sunday morning at Baabda Palace a decree declaring the government headed by Prime Minister Najib Mikati as "resigned". 

In this context, Decree No. 10942 stated the following:

"The President of the Republic, based on the Constitution, especially Clause 5/of Article 53/ thereof, and Paragraph (E) of Item /1/ of Article 69 of it, stipulates the below:

Article One: The government headed by Mr. Mohammad Najib Mikati is deemed to have resigned

Article Two: This decree shall be published and communicated where needed, and shall be implemented as soon as it is issued.
