Once again, Lebanon's name soars high thanks to nationals who have excelled in their domains and landed breakthrough achievements.
This time, the acclaimed architect of Lebanese origins, Rodolphe el-Khoury, has been named the new dean of the University of Miami School of Architecture.
In recognition of el-Khoury's immense contribution to the Userve project which is aimed at cataloging potentially historic properties and other unique architectural buildings in the city, the mayor has dedicated September 24 of every year to "Rodolphe el-Khoury Day," where the city gets to celebrate the achievements of this visonary architect.
Rodolphe el-Khoury was born in Beirut. He received a doctorate degree in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Architectural History from Princeton University, as well as a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design.
He has amassed more than 20 years of experience in his field and has taught in top universities such as MIT, Princeton, and Harvard.
