The Military Tribunal sentenced on Friday fugitive Fadel Abdel Rahman Chmandar known as Fadel Shaker to five years in prison.

The court has fined Shaker LL 500,000 and stripped away his civil rights for 'inciting sectarian strife and attempting to sabotage Lebanon's relations with a fraternal Arab country' during a newspaper interview.

Ali Hassan Rayed was also sentenced in absentia to 20 years in jail.
