President Joseph Aoun emphasized that "the nation’s higher interest is the priority, and any contentious issue is addressed with the concerned parties through dialogue and communication; the Lebanese people do not want war, and the Lebanese Armed Forces are the only ones who should bear arms."
He added, in a statement delivered before attending the Easter Mass in Bkerke: "We made the decision to restrict arms in the inaugural address, and we will implement it; our most important battle is the fight against corruption, and the train of Lebanon’s revival has set off, no one will stand in its way."
