Syria, France and USA Issue Joint Statement on Talks About Stability in Syria
Syria, France, and the United States affirmed their continued cooperation to ensure Syria’s unity, stability, and sovereignty over all its territory, and to support the capabilities of the Syrian state and its institutions to address security challenges.

Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrott, and US Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack held a constructive meeting in Paris, France, within the framework of close cooperation between the participating parties, at a critical moment for Syria.

In an atmosphere of dialogue and a great desire to de-escalate, Syria , the United States of America and France agreed on the need to:

- Rapid engagement in efforts to ensure the success of the transition course in Syria in a way that guarantees the county’s unity, stability and sovereignty over all its territory.

- Commitment to joint cooperation to combat terrorism in all its forms and support the capabilities of the Syrian state and its institutions to address security challenges.

- Supporting the Syrian government in the political transition process, with the aim of achieving national reconciliation and enhancing societal cohesion, especially in northeastern Syria and Sweida governorate.

- Holding a round of consultations between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)in Paris as soon as possible to fully implement the March 10th

- Supporting efforts to hold perpetrators of violence accountable, and welcoming, within this framework, the outcomes of transparent reports, including the latest report of the Independent National Committee tasked with investigating the recent incidents on the Syrian coast.

- Emphasizing that neighboring countries do not pose any threat to Syria’s stability, and in return, affirming Syria’s commitment not to pose any threat to the security of its neighboring countries, in order to preserve the stability of the entire region.
