Lebanon Braces for Intense Heatwave Through the Weekend
Lebanon is expected to experience a significant rise in temperatures over the coming days, as hot air masses from the Arabian Peninsula impact the region. According to the Meteorological Department, this heatwave will mostly affect mountainous and inland areas, with coastal regions also seeing increased humidity.

Starting Thursday, the weather will be partly cloudy with fog forming in the early morning over the mountains. Temperatures will begin to climb, especially in higher and inland areas, accompanied by occasional strong winds.

On Friday, the heat intensifies, with temperatures expected to reach around 40°C in the Beqaa Valley. Humidity will also begin to rise along the coast, adding to the discomfort. Morning fog is likely over the highlands.

Saturday will bring even hotter conditions, particularly in the interior and mountainous regions, where temperatures will exceed seasonal averages by about 5°C. The Beqaa is forecast to record highs well above 40°C, while the coast will also feel hotter due to high humidity levels. Fog will appear again during morning and evening hours.

Sunday’s weather will remain mostly the same, with no significant changes in temperature. However, coastal humidity will continue to contribute to a strong feeling of heat.

Temperature ranges:

Coast: 26–32°C

Mountains: 18–28°C

Inland: 18–39°C
