President of the Republic Joseph Aoun delivered a speech during the Arab Summit in Doha, stating:
“We did not come here merely to show solidarity with a sister state, but on behalf of all Lebanon, to stand in solidarity with ourselves, because through pain and blood we have learned that an attack on any brother is an attack on us; and Qatar is more than just a sister country.”
He added: “Let us go to the United Nations with a unified stance embodied in the question, ‘Does the Israeli government want any just and lasting peace in our region?’ If the answer is yes, we are ready according to the Arab Peace Initiative.”
