Humans have expressed themselves for thousands of years, from the first strokes on cave walls to the inventions that shaped daily life. Creativity runs in our blood.

In an exclusive interview with MTV website, jewelry designer and creator Elsa Osta shared the story of her journey. She revealed that her career began in 2013, when she started a fashion and style blog at the request of her coworkers in Paris. Over the years, that blog gradually evolved into the creative career she enjoys today.

“I’m a one-woman show,” Osta says. “I do everything on my own. The tools available today are a huge help because the possibilities are endless. Everyone has access to tools, but it’s all about how you use them.”

Reflecting on her growth, she adds, “What changed for me over time is the availability of new tools, my curiosity to learn, and my drive to keep exploring.”

Her creative philosophy is simple: she doesn’t label anything as ugly. “I always try to find beauty in things,” she explains. “This process inspires me to create. It’s all about trial and error, and there’s beauty in everything; it’s just a matter of perception.”

Osta also emphasizes her independence. “Since school, I’ve never based my actions on other people’s opinions. I do things because I enjoy them, though I always welcome constructive criticism.”

“Even the most passionate creators need balance,” Osta continues. “We cannot create 24/7. I’m naturally positive and always want to do more, but I’ve learned to take a break when necessary. Sometimes we just need to ‘be.’”

“I believe habits are actions we cultivate that eventually become a natural part of our lives. When approached thoughtfully, habits help us become the version of ourselves we aspire to be,” she says.

“Coming from an artistic background, I only promote content I genuinely believe in,” she adds. “I strive to maintain consistency in what resonates with me. My most important rule is to always uphold honesty and authenticity in everything I do.”

“Creativity exists in all of us. We live in a generation where career paths are flexible and personal growth is limitless,” she points out. “Art is part of everyone’s life, but each person expresses it in their own way, according to their preferences and style.”

“The environment we grow up in profoundly shapes us,” she explains. “I was raised in a creative family that constantly encouraged me to explore my own creativity. In fact, boredom often sparks the first idea for creation.”

“The East is full of creative energy. Our culture is rich and vibrant, and it’s exciting to see more people engaging with it every day,” she observes. “Whether through plays, comedy shows, or other artistic expressions. Art has a unique way of connecting with people, sometimes more powerfully than words alone.”

Elsa leaves us with this advice: “It’s better to try and fail than not to try at all. Life is fascinating and worth exploring.” In fact, when you really think about it, what’s the worst that could happen?
