Salam reviews Financial Gap Law with French Treasury Official
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met today at the Grand Serail with Magali Cesana, Head of Bilateral Affairs and Corporate Internationalization at the French Directorate General of the Treasury.

The discussion focused on the progress made in finalizing the draft Financial Gap Law, which is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet soon.

Prime Minister Salam reaffirmed that the draft law is being prepared in full coordination with all relevant stakeholders, with the aim of securing broad consensus that would ensure its effective implementation.

He emphasized that the drafting process is guided by two core priorities:

- Safeguard depositors’ rights and protecting their interests in a transparent and equitable manner.

- Rebuild a sound and compliant banking sector, aligned with international standards, in a way that supports sustainable economic recovery.

The meeting comes as part of ongoing technical consultations between Lebanon and France on financial and economic reform.
