A residential building in the Bir al-Abed area of Beirut's southern suburbs collapsed at dawn today after sustaining severe damage during the latest Israeli bombardment.
According to sources, the building, which had been heavily damaged in the Israeli strikes, could no longer withstand the structural impact and collapsed completely. No injuries were reported, as the building had been vacant for some time.
Civil Defense teams rushed to the scene, secured the surrounding area, and prevented people from approaching the rubble over fears of further collapse. An investigation has also been launched into the incident, which is believed to have resulted from extensive structural damage caused by the previous bombardment.
