This political moment which Lebanon is passing through and amid the void of the only Christian post in the Arab World, the Christians of the Levant's situation couldn't get any worse.
When some Christian people, politicians and journalists feel the ecstasy when a Hezbollah fighter is saluting the statue of Holy Mary or even when they are allowed to celebrate Palm Sunday in Tripoli, then they are searching for a glimpse of hope amid their failure in maintaining their posts in political life, state's administrations and security apparatuses.
While the four main Christian figureheads are failing to elect a new president, Lebanese Christians are "lucky" to have Tamam Salam as Prime Minister.
Salam recognizes the responsibility of heading a government in a country without a president, so he is keen on preserving the Christians' role in political life.
When delivering a speech marking one-year anniversary of presidential vacuum, Salam rejected to anticipate his message by the national anthem, a tradition known to be limited for the presidents of Lebanon.
"PM Salam Salam is a model of moderation, amid the exaggeration of some ministers, deputies and officials who only work for the interest of their sect at the expense of others, he had never made a mistake against Christians or violated a top vacant post," a minister in the current cabinet said.
Salam is known to be open on other sects, for the number of his Christian cronies is equal to Muslims. His advisors are Christians in times when top officials only feel comfortable when they appoint their assistants from the same sect.
Lucky is Salam when he reached the premiership, he grew luckier when the mandate of his government was extended from 100 days to one year and four months...
He is lucky to have won the Christians' hearts too...
