Although all relatives and acquaintances of Maj. Rabih Kahil responded to AUBMC's call for AB+ blood type to save his life, his body succumbed to his wounds and went lifeless.

Kahil's body had already bled in several battles which took place in Lebanon, once in Nahr al-Bared in 2008 and in Arsal last year. He couldn't fight the treachery of two ridiculous young men, in the time of cheap death making the headlines of our media.

Life is not a movie. Heroes die here while we shed real tears and our hearts are torn apart by their absence. Heroes die here outside the battlefield; for instance in a car crash or during an individual dispute, as it happened with Army commando Kahil.

Neither his military rank nor his honorary history filled with victories and achievements saved his life. He was shot dead. His family, relatives and colleagues cried over his death like babies. Life is not a movie. Heroes cry here.

Scores of mourners and Army personnel headed to Khandaq al-Ghamiq Mosque yesterday to pay tribute to the martyr’s family, who blocked the bridge of Fouad Chehab for a while to demand justice.

Meanwhile on social media, the composer Ziad Boutros mourned the martyr saying "My brother Rabih! People like you do not fade away, you were killed with a bullet but in our hearts you're living, we congratulate you for your martyrdom."

Also footage surfaced on social media, where Kahil appears to be attending the concert of Julia Boutros on September 2014, showing him singing her everlasting song "Ghabet Shams el Haq".
