Marking the anniversary of Imam Moussa al-Sadr’s disappearance, President of the Republic Joseph Aoun described the missing cleric as “a symbol of national unity, social justice, and a champion of interfaith dialogue,” emphasizing that his legacy extends far beyond religious leadership.

In a statement issued on the occasion, President Aoun reiterated Lebanon’s “firm commitment to pursue the case of his disappearance at all levels and to uphold the nation’s right to uncover the full truth."

He added that the most meaningful tribute to Imam Sadr lies in continuing his mission to build “a just and united Lebanon that embraces all its people and safeguards their dignity.”

Calling for the day to serve as a moment of reflection, the president urged all Lebanese to remain committed to the Imam’s values and work collectively toward “a Lebanon worthy of his sacrifices and vision.”
