Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea denounced on Sunday the assassination attempt against Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi "for no other reason than because he oversaw the organization of free, fair and transparent elections that work to achieve a real state in Iraq."
 
“Unfortunately, some still insist, as is the case in Iraq as in other countries in the region, to confront the popular will with violence, coercion and assassination attempts," he added.
