The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Kataeb Party discussed in its weekly meeting, chaired by party leader, MP Samy Gemayel, the latest developments in Lebanon, issuing a statement that touched, first, on "the prospects of the country sliding back into a military escalation."

"The Kataeb party rejects the aggression against Lebanon's sovereignty, and at the same time renews its warning against the danger of continuing to become involved in the game of axes, in spite of the Lebanese whose self-determination and the decision of peace and war has been taken away from them. The Kataeb questions the absence, or at best the delay, of an official State position. (...) This puts Lebanon at great security and military instability."
