Information Minister Jamal Jarrah on Thursday said after the cabinet meeting at Baabda Palace that there was an affirmation by the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement on the need to include in the state budget radical reforms leading to the stability of the national economy.
He pointed out that every reform plan should be sent with a bill to the House of Parliament, noting that the work of the reform committee continues.
The Minister also regretted that the rumors that were being spread about the country’s economy had indeed caused great damage to the economy and public finances.
“I am not saying that the media is causing chaos. There are also deputies and ministers whose rhetoric is causing instability,” Jarrah added.
He finally stressed the principle of freedom of expression; however, he pointed to the limits maintained by the constitution dealing with freedom, especially when attacking the presidential post.
