President of the Lebanese Democratic Party, MP Talal Arslan, met with Russian Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov's special envoy to the Middle East and North Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, in the presence of Minister Saleh Al-Gharib and a delegation, with talks touching on the regional and local political developments, and the file of the displaced Syrians in Lebanon.
According to a statement issued by the party's media directorate, the meeting highlighted the importance of the safe and dignified return of displaced Syrians to their homeland, "which has become an urgent national need, especially in light of the economic and social conditions that Lebanon is going through."
"Whoever deals with this issue in Lebanon from a political and malicious point of view, is promoting economic, social, security, environmental and health deterioration in Lebanon," the statement read.
The meeting stressed that "the use of the file of displacement to blackmail Syria no longer works, as no country will remain immune to the repercussions of the displacement crisis if the economic situation continues as it is."
