Multiple brush fires broke out Sunday night across several Lebanese regions and burned acres of land amid a bout of hot, dry and windy weather.
In the south, a wildfire erupted in the outskirts of the Jezzine town of Safarieh, destroying 45 dunams of forest trees.
Along the border, a lightning strike at dawn caused a huge fire on the both sides of the frontiers stretching from al-Ghajar to Abbassieh.
In the Chouf district, flames raged out of control in the town of Meshref and reached nearby houses as well as the Rafic Hariri University and the Carmel Saint Joseph school.
Civil defense teams are still fighting the fire.
Turning to Keserwan, firefighters managed to extinguish flames that devoured acres of brushes in the town of Maaysra.
In the north, wildfires ravaged brushwood and forest trees in Kobayat, Sindyaneh, Ain Tenta and Dousseh.
