Norwegian Ambassador to Lebanon, Leni Stenseth on Tuesday toured the Southern Lebanese district of Marjayoun.
Opening up her tour, Ambassador Stenseth visited the Qaem Maqam of Marjeyoun, Wissam Hayek, at his office.
Hayek hailed the remarkable friendship between the Kingdom of Norway and Lebanon and the sacrifices made by the Norwegian soldiers as they served within UNIFIL in south Lebanon for twenty years.
Stenseth and Hayek then joined Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Sanjiv Arora, at a handover ceremony held at UNIFIL Indian Contingent's base between the outgoing Indian Contingent and the new one.
The ceremony took place in the presence of officers of UNIfIL and the Lebanese army.
Afterwards, the delegation then moved to the town of Ibl Al Saki, where they visited Ibl Saki's Municipality and were welcomed by the Mayor, mukhtars and the town's dignitaries.
Ambassador Stenseth then laid wreaths on the tombs of the Norwegian soldiers in said town.
The Ambassador also visited the Norwegian Museum.
