The Public Prosecution, acting as the prosecuting authority, has requested that former President Michel Aoun be charged with criminal negligence in connection with the Beirut port explosion, according to a judicial source cited by AFP.

The development comes after Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation Mohammed Saab submitted his legal assessment regarding the indictment to investigating Judge Tarek Bitar, writing “Justice for All” on the envelope.
