Industry Minister Joe Issa El-Khoury held a series of meetings with leading French business figures in Paris, accompanied by Lebanon’s Ambassador to France and an official delegation, as part of efforts to attract foreign investment and strengthen international industrial partnerships.
Issa El-Khoury met Patrick Martin, President of the French employers’ federation MEDEF, which represents more than 240,000 businesses across various sectors.
Discussions focused on expanding Lebanese-French industrial cooperation and attracting new French investments, particularly in technology-driven industries, by leveraging Lebanon’s engineering and technical expertise.
The two sides explored nearshoring and offshoring opportunities that would enable French companies to expand production activities in Lebanon while integrating Lebanese manufacturers into global supply chains.
Issa El-Khoury highlighted Lebanon’s potential as an industrial and technological partner, citing its skilled workforce, manufacturing expertise and capacity to deliver competitive, high-value products.
He invited Martin to visit Lebanon next January, accompanied by a delegation of French industrialists and business leaders, to explore investment opportunities and establish direct partnerships with Lebanese companies.
The discussions also addressed plans to organize a Lebanese industrial investment forum in Paris, bringing together French investors and Lebanese manufacturers to present concrete projects and investment opportunities. A joint committee would oversee preparations and follow-up.
Separately, Issa El-Khoury met Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, Honorary President of MEDEF and the Francophone Employers’ Alliance, to explore ways of expanding Lebanon’s economic and industrial ties with French and Francophone business communities.
The meetings form part of the ministry’s strategy to position Lebanon as a hub for specialized manufacturing and technological innovation, attract investment, create skilled employment opportunities and increase industrial exports.
