Al-Mustaqbal MP Kazem Al-Kheir pushed for laying down illegitimate arms in favor of the sole authority of the Lebanese state, and under the control of the Lebanese Army.

"We insist that the Lebanese state and its institutions be the only national guarantor," he said in a radio interview.

Speaking on the behalf of his parliamentary bloc, the lawmaker also warned that it was not right to fix wrong doings with more mistakes.

"Supporting the Lebanese army is paramount," he added, cautioning from sliding into a state of civil war.
