Video shows woman escaping a fire in a 21-story residential building in Berlin by jumping from a window approximately 35 meters above the ground, before being caught and rescued by a firefighter.
The fire broke out in the Friedrichshain district and is believed to have started inside an apartment on the 11th floor before spreading to the floor above.
The footage shows the woman standing on a narrow window ledge as flames raged from the window of the neighboring apartment and thick smoke filled the area. She attempted to climb down toward a firefighter on a ladder two floors below, but lost her balance and slipped.
As the flames continued to spread, the woman had no choice but to jump from the building. The firefighter managed to catch her and save her.
At least five people were injured in the fire, while firefighters managed to bring it under control in less than three hours.
