Rasamny and IFC delegation have explored infrastructure investments and regional connectivity strategy

Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny convened with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Regional Director for the Middle East and Central Asia Imad Fakhoury. The delegation featured Thomas Jacobs, Country Manager for the Levant, Iraq, and Yemen; Linda Lankai Lamptey, Advisor to the Regional Vice President; and Mazen Abdel-Aziz, Principal Investment Officer for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).

The meeting focused on key projects across the transport and critical infrastructure sectors, evaluating prospects for their development through public-private partnerships. Discussions centered on leveraging the IFC’s expertise in project structuring, feasibility studies, and investment mobilization, alongside outlining subsequent technical steps to lay the groundwork for future institutional cooperation.

Furthermore, both sides addressed the Ministry's regional connectivity strateg, developed in collaboration with the World Bank, aimed at optimizing cross-border transport, facilitating the transit of goods and passengers, and enhancing Lebanon’s integration with neighboring markets amid evolving regional trade corridors.

The delegates underscored Lebanon's strategic role within the broader regional transport grid, emphasizing how bolstering seaports, airports, and logistics networks can drive national economic recovery and expand trade engagement across the region.
